Xpanda Security NZ supplies and installs, galvanised steel sheets (skins) in various thicknesses, to provide added security and protection to vulnerable exterior doors (mostly). The sheet is cut to the door size, placed in position on the door, drilled and then bolted right through the existing door, using coach bolts and nuts to secure in place. Cut outs for the locks are usually done on site. In some cases, an Anti-Jemmy strip can be incorporated into the skin, or added separately, further increasing the protection and security. Another worthwhile addition is to install security pins on the inside of the hinged side of the door, which then locks the door into the jamb when closed providing the ultimate security. The door cannot be opened from the hinge side even if the hinges are interfered with and the hinge pins are removed.
