The rising number of ram raids on gas stations and convenience stores leaves us wondering if these could be prevented with security products like bollards or grille doors. The following incident involves some miscreants ram raiding a petrol station in Ruakākā, and stealing cigarettes and ice-cream.
The incident
A yellow Mazda Demio was used to ram raid GAS Bream Bay in Ruakākā, Northland by reversing the car through the gas station’s front doors. The thieves took cigarettes and ice-cream, and damaged the counter and ice cream freezer. The owner and manager were alerted by the alarm company and arrived at the location just 10 minutes after it went off.
